4A Homework for Wednesday 10/7

This week, we'll be working on hearing and identifying intervals.
You're homework for Wednesday will be in the form of an online quiz
studying intervals.

Instructions:

  1. Go to http://www.musictheory.net
  2. under the "trainers" menu, select "Interval Ear Trainer"
  3. The ear trainer will begin, but before you start answering, edit these following settings:

Check ONLY the following intervals: Major 2nd, Major 3rd, Perfect 5th,
Major 7th, Octave
Direction: upwards arrow
Play mode: broken AND stacked interval

It should look like this before you start:

Your homework is to do a total of 25 intervals. When you are finished, print out a progress report. This assignment will be for credit only, but you must bring a progress report to get credit.

Tips:

  • listen carefully, and use the "play again" button as often as needed
  • Try not to simply guess, and avoid the temptation to use the popup keyboard to check your guessing.
  • When mistakes are made, make note what interval you THOUGHT it was, and try to remember for next time. The progress report also helps show common mistakes.

Completed progress reports are due on Wednesday, but feel free to hand this in Monday if you've finished.
