Transcription Project: Part II [due dates updated]

For all students:

For the next portion of this project, decide what precise section you are doing (for many of you I suggested a spot), and do a basic, but critical listening of the piece, and observe the following things.

What key is it in?

Does it start and end in the same key?

Are there any other key areas (modulations) other than the opening key?

What is the meter (compound/simple, duple/triple/quadruple)?

If applicable, what is the form? (For some the music is through-composed)

This portion of the assignment will be due (hard copy only...no emails this time) on Friday 2/26.

4E quiz tomorrow

Just a reminder about the quiz scheduled for tomorrow. It will be a 4
part dictation from the keyboard harmony sheet handed out in class.
Study up on the rules for upper voices and you should be fine.
