4E weekend homework

Melodies 316-318
Chorale 159 all parts

Transcription Project part III [4E only]
For the next portion of your project, transcribe the rhythm of the melody and do an overall harmonic analysis with figured bass.  I will post an example to follow so you know what I'm looking for.

If you haven't already, provide me with a way of listening to it, whether that be emailing me a youtube link, or a burning a CD.  On second thought, my CD drive is broken, so I would prefer a link.  If you have a recording that is not available online, you can bring it on a flash drive.

4B weekend homework

First of all, prepare melodies 85-87 for individual singing

Also prepare to sing through the Menuet in G - in duets to the end. Use the following solfege map:
measures 1-17: G Major
measures 17-19: G Major
*measure 20*: D Major - hear half cadence in D (ti-la-ti-sol)
measures 21-24: D Major (*begin on sol-la-ti...)
measures 25-end: return to G Major

Finally, transcription Project part III [4B only]
For the next portion of your project, you will transcribe the bass, which will give you a foundation on which to transcribe the melody later. It will vary slightly for each student depending on the music you chose, but if your "bass line" is complex or quick moving, try to simply identify the primary bass note of each measure. As an example, in the menuet in G, measure 8 has a descending scale, but the primary bass note is D, measure 9 and 10 are just G. Identify the ROOT whenever possible. If you haven't already, provide me with a way of listening to it, whether that be emailing me a youtube link, or a burning a CD. On second thought, my CD drive is broken, so I would prefer a link. If you have a recording that is not available online, you can bring it on a flash drive.

This portion will be due Monday. Late projects will be docked one letter grade per class.

Any questions feel free to email me.
